Scarecrows Wanted!
Gather up your supplies and enter the EDHCSD Annual Scarecrow Contest! There is NO entry fee, and you can use supplies scavenged from the barn or storage shed. Borrow Grandpa’s old straw hat, maybe Grandma’s old apron… even the dog’s bandana… just be sure to ask first!

2017 pumpkin splash

Pumpkin Splash Patch
Saturday, October 21, 2-4pm 

CSD Community Pool

Begin your quest for the perfect Halloween pumpkin at the Pumpkin Splash Patch. Children 3 to 10 years of age should come wearing their swimsuits for this holiday hunt. Participants will hunt for their perfect pumpkin in the heated pool, decorate it and take it home. In addition, there will be open swim.  Pre-registration is required.

2017 trunk

Inaugural TRUNK or TREAT
Trunk or Treaters go from trunk to trunk, collecting candy from volunteers who have decorated their vehicles to serve as a backdrop for this spooktacular event! Other activities will include: Spooky Scarecrow Trail, Ghoulish Games and Creepy Cake Walk. Click here to see the flyer.

Wanted!
Trunks and Candy Contributors
Volunteers will be asked to decorate their trunk or tailgate and provide them as stopping points for candy distribution at this event. Candy Contributors are those businesses or individuals who donate monetarily or actual candy in support of this event. The entry form can be downloaded here

Books on the Bus: Ride Bus Route #70 for Free in October

In the month of October, families in El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park can ride the new El Dorado Transit bus line #70 for free using their library card!  First 5 El Dorado’s Community Hub Teams have 200 vouchers for community members who do not have a library card and would like to take the bus to get one.  Library staff are prepared to process applications for families who may have had barriers to access in the past.  You can find all your Hub Team members, brochures, and community calendars on the First 5 El Dorado website at: 

·         Community Hub Team 1 - El Dorado Hills
·         Community Hub Team 2 - Cameron Park and South County communities 
·         Community Hub Team 3 - Placerville and Camino 
·         Community Hub Team 4 - Divide and Rescue
·         Community Hub Team 5 - South Lake Tahoe and Pollock Pines
