After School Program

Grades K-5th

As schools are reopening the CSD has AM & PM cohort child care available for families Monday - Friday 7:45am - 6:00pm. For more information, please click here.

Adventure Zone is operated by the El Dorado Hills CSD Recreation Department with the purpose to provide a safe, caring, and enriching environment for your child after school.

A variety of age-appropriate, and integrated activities will be provided under the guidance of trained personnel. Children are encouraged to be actively involved so that they develop social skills and learn to make responsible choices within the program's structure. District staff provides the children with a variety of opportunities to participate in art, science, and outdoor activities as well as time for homework and fun.

Adventure Zone will also include use of a highly secure online emergency network called ePACT, which collects medical and emergency information for all participants, eliminating the use of paper forms. Using ePACT means staff will be better prepared to deal with any emergency, big or small as well as more accurate, up-to-date, and legible information over the paper forms we’ve used in the past. Because it is web-based, staff and parents can securely access the system via smartphone, tablet, or computer, so it’s always accessible whether at the park or during a field trip.

How Can I Register?
Registration will operate similar to 2020 Summer Camp, where El Dorado Hills residents have the opportunity to register on a first-come, first-served basis for beginning Wednesday, July 29, at 6:00 pm. Waitlist registration will open online for Kinder through 5th grade, and families only need to register ONE person from their family to the waitlist. Our staff will call residents back in waitlist order the following day, Thursday, July 30, 2020, to add additional family members, gather all registration information, and payment for the first week. Non-residents may register for the program beginning August 14, 2020.

Distance Learning - Child Care

 Overview

EDHCSD Distance Learning – Child Care provides opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive as they make their way from K-5th grade. We provide daily physical and educational activities like sports & recreation, homework and distance learning support to assist students in meeting their teacher-assigned requirements; all while socializing with friends in a safe and healthy environment.

Distance Learning

With the changing landscape of education, we understand the need parents and students have for additional support. In our distance learning program, we offer educational support for children K – 5th grade. With Chromebooks (students must bring their own) our team will work with the children to support learning, complete classwork and/or homework.

In order to align with best practices in regards to health and safety guidelines from the Center of Disease Control (CDC), the program will be reducing the capacity of student enrollment, as well as limiting the ratio to one staff member per ten students (1:10). Staff and students will remain in the same groups as much as possible to create stable groups. Students will be grouped by age/grade to allow peer socialization opportunities. Staff will wear face covering; however the wearing of a face covering by student’s will be determined by parent/guardian. The health and safety of our staff and students remains our top priority.

Schedule

Due to the variety of schedules, staff and parents will review and discuss each students’ schedule the Friday preceding each week. Staff will coordinate group recess/snack, lunch and Physical Education to coincide with each student’s availability.

Tuition: $135 per week

Distance Learning - Child Care requires a tuition agreement that can be found here.
