What’s Happening at the CSD…

El Dorado Hills Residents, CSD Partners, Sport League Groups, and any other Community Stakeholders,

The CSD needs your help!

On Tuesday, May 22nd the County Board of Supervisors will be considering a park impact fee update. This fee is collected only once per home and only at the time that the permit is pulled when the new house is built. Funds collected are dedicated to offsetting the impacts brought by additional/new population to our area. We perform those offsets by building new parks, trails and facilities. The fee has not been updated since 2007.

When we don’t have enough of those impact fees there are a few options to take: delay delivery of the new park & facility; remove the planned improvement from the capital project list; divert and utilize funds that would otherwise be used for all of the other great things we do, like Concerts in the Park, Park Parties, Cookies with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt or; ask current residents to pay for those improvements through bonds or other financing.

If you feel strongly about how the costs of future parks and facility improvements will be passed onto you instead of onto the developers and builders of new homes, then submit your comments to El Dorado County on this item. A sample letter of support is provided here for you to use.
